Birmingham-based Shipt helps deliver holiday teddy bears to Children’s of Alabama

Shipt is a company best known for delivering groceriesbut this holiday season, the Birmingham-based company delivered something else – gifts to patients at Alabama Children’s Hospital.
Shipt has partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop to deliver 1,000 teddy bears to children at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham.
“Our hope is that these new furry friends bring smiles and comfort this holiday season,” said Sharon Price John, CEO of Build-A-Bear Workshop in a press release.
And it’s not just Alabama – the two companies are teaming up to deliver a total of 10,000 teddy bears to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the country.
“Shipt and Build-A-Bear Workshop share the core values of caring for and uplifting others, and we’re excited to come together to deliver more heartfelt moments this holiday season,” said Kelly Caruso, CEO of Shipt. “Children spending the holidays in the hospital especially deserve a hug from a teddy bear, and we’re proud to partner with the Build-A-Bear Foundation and Alabama Children’s Hospital to make making these hugs a safe reality for more children.”
The partnership will also allow children and families to have a Build-A-Bear experience from home, with the luxury of same-day delivery. Kids can customize their new furry friends in the classic Build-A-Bear style through their online workshop. Shipt can then deliver those bears in less than an hour.
