Pedego Oyama’s Tena McKenzie hopes to top $7,000 raised in 2021 through her participation in the CIBC Okanagan Rail Trail Run for the Cure
The Oyama community is teaming up with Pedego to fight cancer this weekend.
Tena McKenzie of Pedego is leading Team Oyama to help raise funds for the CIBC Run for the Cure taking place on Sunday on the Okanagan Rail Trail. Tena partnered with the community of Oyama to organize the ride from the Gatzke Farmers Market parking lot at 10:30 a.m. on September 25.
“Every member of our team rides for someone we know who has fought or is fighting this disease. I’m sure you know someone too,” says Sheila Fraser, owner of Pedego Oyama. spread the word.”
McKenzie is a breast cancer survivor celebrating her 11th anniversary of beating the disease.
“I call my bike team: BOA – Boobs of Anarchy,” says McKenzie. “We’re wearing black biker t-shirts with pink feather boas and I’m leading the pack on my breast cancer pink Pedego e-bike.”
The event is sponsored by Gatzke Orchards, Pedego Oyama, OKF Grill, Woody’s Pub and Alexander’s Pub.
“What an amazing community we have! The support from sponsors, coupled with local friends and neighbors, has been incredible! Last year we raised over $7,000 – this year we hope to raise even more!”
